Paul Bronfman, William F. White and Pinewood Toronto Studios Founder, Dies at 67

It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Paul Bronfman, a true visionary and an unwavering supporter of the CSC. Paul Bronfman, Chairman and CEO of Comweb Corp., Co-Chairman and Senior Advisor of William F. White International (WFW), and Chair of The Future is Calling Campaign, dedicated his life to the advancement of the film and television industry in Canada and beyond. He was 67.

Paul’s contributions to the CSC and the entire industry were unparalleled. As a pioneering supplier of production equipment, soundstages, and services to the Canadian and Hollywood film and TV industry, his leadership and passion shaped the foundation of the creative community for generations to come. Through WFW, Paul championed the support of new talent, recognizing the importance of nurturing the next wave of industry professionals.

Despite being diagnosed with MS in 1995, Paul persevered for 30 years, continuing his extraordinary work in business and philanthropy. His commitment to the CSC was steadfast and deeply valued. “It’s an honour and a pleasure to lead this dynamic group of industry leaders and top Canadian cinematographers,” Paul once remarked of the CSC Future is Calling Campaign Cabinet . “I have a long association with the CSC, which I value and cherish, and I look forward to working with the team to raise significant revenue and increase the diversity of the film and television industry in this country.”

Paul Bronfman’s legacy of generosity, leadership, and vision leaves an indelible mark on our community. We are forever grateful for his dedication and the incredible impact he made. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
